PROJECT OVERVIEW
Funcles Company approached me with their exciting new IP "Class Zero". It's an innovative NFT project that aims to revolutionize anime animation in the Web3 space.
Since they had no visual content yet for the project, Funcles brought me on board as their Art Director and Lead Artist. I joined forces with Stacey Yu, the Creative Director and Co-Founder, to bring Class Zero to life.
As the Art Director and Lead Artist, I was responsible for collaborating with Stacey on the style direction, main protagonist characters, world-building, animations, and marketing content. With my expertise in the animation production pipeline, artist referrals, and open lines of communication, I was able to bring my skills to the table and help the Class Zero project thrive.
Our creative team is a dynamic combination of in-house artists and the UK-based animation studio Picnic Studios, who are all working together to make Class Zero a success.
ART DIRECTION
Under the creative direction of Stacey, I created style boards and optimized the production pipeline to set the project up for success in both animation and illustration.
Additionally, I made it a point to educate the Funcles team on the essentials of design and animation production, so that they could make informed decisions for their project going forward.

Artist Workbooks
I created workbooks for my artists to visually and verbally communicate any direction and updates throughout the project.

Colour Keys
The Funcles Team had me try various different colour schemes. The first one was based on my own palette choices. After much experimenting, we finally chose the palette shown in the Finalized Character Lineup.
